Whitten St., which is on the east side of the Alarcon’s property. We have been neighbors of the Alarcons for over 30 years. During that time, the Alarcons have always had a shade cover between our houses, attached to theirs, which they’ve used to vine grapes and provide shade for the breakfast bar inside. We have never had a problem with it and cannot understand why the city would then have a problem with it now. We would like to voice our opinion that we feel this should not be an issue and the Alarcons should be allowed to continue to keep their shade cover.
