4-19-22 Dear Members of the Chandler Planning Commission, Mr. Mayor and Chandler City Council, My name is Kellie Mendoza and I live directly east of the proposed Veneto Development at Pecos and Pleasant Drive. I want to start by stating that I had no intention of supporting this project when we first started this process. We had major concerns and were afraid we wouldn’t be listened to. However, Max and his development team began working with us to find solutions to our problems. Instead of trying to work against our opposition, they began to work with us! We really appreciate how Max and the development team started to immediately make changes to their project. They added landscaping to begin with, to buffer our house and yard from the new development. Then they offered to add landscaping in our yard as an additional buffer, because the grading is different on the two sites. They completely modified their house product for us, removing balconies that faced our property to respect our privacy. They even changed the name of the project at my suggestion. This development team really has done everything that could reasonably asked of them to accommodate the surrounding neighbors. With the changes that have been made to address our concerns, as well as additional accommodations that have been made to address concerns of neighbors to the north, we feel this proposal is a great solution to this difficult infill site that is next single-family, an arterial roadway, and across the street from apartments. Development of the site was inevitable, and we feel we have been fortunate to work with Max and to end up with the type of thoughtfully designed development that is now being proposed. We have no desire to start over with another developer, which may not make the same accommodations for us. We fully support this revised project. Respectfully, Kellie and Daniel Mendoza 790 W.
