RESOLUTION NO. 5597 
 
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHANDLER, 
ARIZONA, AUTHORIZING THE ALLOCATION OF FISCAL YEAR 2022-
2023 GENERAL FUNDS IN THE AMOUNT OF $1,088,056.40 AND FUNDS 
AVAILABLE AS A RESULT OF THE AMERICAN RESCUE PLAN ACT IN 
THE AMOUNT OF $350,151.44 TO VARIOUS NON-PROFIT AGENCIES IN 
ACCORDANCE WITH THE RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE CHANDLER 
HOUSING AND HUMAN SERVICES COMMISSION AND STAFF. 
 
WHEREAS, the City of Chandler, in partnership with state and federal funding, non-profit 
partners, faith-based organizations, community leaders, and caring Chandler residents, provides a 
network of human services, education and assistance to Chandler’s most vulnerable residents; and 
 
WHEREAS, building on strengths, collaborative efforts, partnerships and innovation, this network 
has helped many Chandler residents and youth overcome barriers, survive crisis, improve their 
education, increase independence, and build self-confidence; and 
 
WHEREAS, the City of Chandler allocated funding of $1,088,056.40 in the FY 2022-2023 budget 
for supporting various agencies that provide human services programs for City of Chandler 
residents; and 
 
WHEREAS, the City of Chandler previously approved allocating spending of federal funding from 
the American Rescue Plan Act to support non-profit organizations and now wishes to allocate 
$350,151.44 in the FY 2022-2023 budget to provide additional support to various agencies that 
provide human services programs for City of Chandler residents; and 
 
WHEREAS, various non-profit agencies submitted requests totaling over $2,908,496.23; and 
 
WHEREAS, the Chandler Housing and Human Services Commission (“HHSC”) and staff have 
reviewed the applications and are recommending funding to the agencies as summarized in the FY 
2022-2023 Funding Recommendations attachment and the FY 2022-2023 General Fund Program 
Descriptions attachment, which are incorporated herein by this reference. 
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Chandler, Arizona, 
as follows: 
 
Section 1.  
Authorizing the allocation of Fiscal Year 2022-2023 General Funds in the 
amount $1,088,056.40 and funds available as a result of the American Rescue 
Plan Act in the amount of $350,151.44 to various non-profit agencies in 
accordance with the recommendations of the HHSC and staff. 
 
Section 2.  
Authorizing the Neighborhood Resources Department to notify the various

agencies involved and establish any appropriate processes for funding 
distribution, program monitoring, and program evaluation. 
 
Section 3.  
Authorizing the City Manager or his designee to take all action necessary to 
carry out the intent of this Resolution, including entering into agreements; 
suspending, terminating, amending, allocating, or reallocating funding to 
agencies; and such other actions as are necessary.
