RESOLUTION NO. 5599 
 
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHANDLER, 
ARIZONA APPROVING AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE MARICOPA 
ASSOCIATION OF GOVERNMENTS AND THE CITY OF CHANDLER TO 
DEVELOP A PROJECT ASSESSMENT FOR ENHANCED BICYCLE AND 
PEDESTRIAN FACILITIES AND POTENTIAL TRAFFIC CALMING 
ELEMENTS ALONG HUNT HIGHWAY FROM COOPER ROAD TO VAL 
VISTA DRIVE IN THE AMOUNT OF $70,000. 
 
WHEREAS, the City of Chandler desires to develop a Project Assessment (PA) for potential traffic 
calming measures and enhanced bicycle facilities along Hunt Highway from Cooper Road to Val 
Vista Drive; and 
 
WHEREAS, the City of Chandler was awarded federal grant funding in the amount of $66,010.00, 
with a required $3,990.00 local match for the completion of the PA; and 
 
WHEREAS, an active transportation project agreement between the City of Chandler and the 
Maricopa Association of Governments (MAG) is required to authorize MAG to manage a contract 
and utilize the federal grant funds for the PA on behalf of the City, and to authorize the City to pay 
MAG $3,990.00 to be used to fund the local match portion of the PA. 
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Chandler, Arizona, 
as follows:  
 
Section 1.  
Approving the Active Transportation Project Agreement No. 828C-0R with MAG 
to develop a project assessment for traffic calming measures and separated bike 
lanes along Hunt Highway from Cooper Road to Val Vista Drive in the amount of 
$70,000. 
 
Section 2. 
Authorizing the Mayor to sign said agreement on behalf of the City of Chandler.
