Unless history is recorded, that history will become lost; many important things that happened in the area should be preserved. All history of the City of Chandler should be documented, and Southside Viliage is certainly too important in its timeline to allow it to go unrecognized. This area produced professional sports figures, attorneys, a judge, the first biack mayor of Chandler, and the first four black students to integrate Chandler High School. | myself was one of those four students. Southside Village was also home to entrepreneurs, authors, schoolteachers, counselors, and ministers of the Gospel of Jesus Christ! So, | wholeheartedly support the designation of this area as a historical site to be preserved for all generations in the future. Sincerely Elder Willie E.
