State Statute prohibits the Board or Commission from discussing an item that is not on the agenda, but the Board or Commission does listen to your concerns and has staff follow up on any questions you raise. 1. Beth Price - Child Crisis Arizona - Community Engagement Manager (not present) Atasha Hill - Child Crisis Arizona - Community Engagement Specialist Overview of Child Crisis Arizona programs - known basically as an emergency children's shelter serving children under 10 who have been removed from their home by social services. But there is also a group home for boys ages 11-17, and now have an independent living program for children ages 16-20. There are also a lot of other programs that wrap around creating stronger and more successful families. Our Counseling and Early Education Programs serve families that are 100-200% under the federal poverty level. We find a lot of families struggling with domestic violence and may not have re-sources. The FANS program is a resource center for basic necessities, done by referral from all different resources. Discussion 6. Field of Hope - April 24, 2022 7. Chandler City Council - February presentation updating Council with highlight of Teen 8. Chandler Unified School District - Teen Dating Violence activities at Hamilton High School 9. Annual DV Awareness Event - change of event date to Tuesday, Sept 20th, 2022 10 a.m. Calendar 10. Next Domestic Violence Commission meeting Wednesday, July 13, at 9:00 a.m. - Information Items Adjourn at 10:09 a.m. 2. Minutes of May 11, 2022 Motion by Commissioner Curtis to approve Minutes of May 11, 2022. Seconded by Commissioner Knape UNANIMOUS APPROVAL Action Agenda Council Chambers Conference Room - 88 E. Chicago St., Chandler, AZ Dating Violence activities at Chandler schools. and Perry High School - positive response of interest from students and teachers. Suggestion to approach the School Board in November and February this next year to announce Teen Dating Month, to share information resources with the Board and request access to the school to share information with students/teachers. - Theme "Ready to Soar: Honoring Military Voices of Domestic Violence". We need a donation list, where donations for admission can go to Veterans. Speakers from Shockwave (male/female), ACESDV Share (female). Two keynote speakers, two re- sources, legislative update from ACESDV and a singer.
