Mount Olive has been an integral part of this community for over 80 years and to this day relatives of the original families remain members of the church and community. South Chandler Self-Help Foundation was organized by members of Mount Olive to support the needs of this overlooked community and has been in existence since 1989. The members of Mount Olive and the entire board of South Chandler Self-Help strongly support the recognition of this community as a Historic Conversation District, and we Support the name “Southside Village Historic Conversation District.” It is imperative that we recognize the contribution of this community to our city.
