Domestic Violence Commission MEETING MINUTES Wednesday, July 13, 2022 MINUTES OF THE regular Meeting of the DOMESTIC VIOLENCE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CHANDLER, ARIZONA, held in the City of Chandler Council Chambers Conference Room, 88 E. Chicago St., Chandler, Arizona, on Wednesday, July 13, 2022. New theme: Ready to Soar: Honoring Military Survivors of Domestic Violence. September 20th – 8-12 am. DV Commission has a budget of $1000 for food, centerpieces, décor, and linen laundering. Logistics were discussed along with having resource tables in the foyer area or in the conference room. Vice Chair Lynn will MC the event. Vice Chair will inquire about donations for veterans. Discussion of speakers – 2 or 3 Keynote speakers (male and female), resource speakers, legislative update, and performer. Social media posting and Eventbrite invitation was discussed. CALENDAR Next Domestic Violence Commission meeting Wednesday, August 10, at 9:00 a.m. at Council Chambers Conference Room - 88 E. Chicago St., Chandler, AZ Next Domestic Violence Subcommittee meeting Wednesday, August 10, at 10:00 a.m. at Council Chambers Conference Room - 88 E. Chicago St., Chandler, AZ INFORMATION ITEMS DV Awareness Month proclamation for City Council meeting in September. Commissioner Knape resignation with Zoe Flippen as proposed replacement Commissioner for AZCA. My Sister’s Place Pathways was granted the Sexual Violence Expansion Grant. ACESDV - 24 hr. trainings will be in Aug/Sept, Reproductive Justice training thru Oct, Conference in February. Doing Community Spotlights on organizations that may help with domestic violence. Outreach Subcommittee will consist of Chair Grieve, Vice Chair Lynn, Commissioners Curtis, Codkind, and the Arizona Children’s Association representative.
