REGULAR MEETING MINUTES
JULY 12, 2022
1. CALL TO ORDER/ROLL CALL
Chair Dalpe called the meeting to order on Tuesday, July 12, 2022, at 5:00 p.m.

2. ACTION AGENDA
a. Approval of the Minutes of the Military and Veterans Affairs Commission
Regular Meeting of June 14, 2022
Chair Dalpe requested a motion for approval of the minutes for the June 14,
2022, Military and Veterans Affairs Commission meeting. Vice-Chair Facciponti
made the motion to approve the minutes of the June 14, 2022, minutes.
Commissioner Levinson seconded the motion.
The minutes were approved 5-0 by all Commission members present.

b. Approval of the Minutes of the Military and Veterans Affairs Commission
Special Meeting of May 20, 2022
Chair Dalpe requested a motion for approval of the minutes for the May 20,
2022, Military and Veterans Affairs Commission meeting. Vice-Chair Facciponti
made the motion to approve the minutes of the May 20, 2022, minutes.
Commissioner Walter seconded the motion.
The minutes were approved 5-0 by all Commission members present.
c. Approval of the Language on the Storyboards for the Veteran’s Memorial
Chair Dalpe requested a motion to approve the language on the storyboards for
the
Veteran’s
Memorial
with
the
removal
of
duplicate
information.
Commissioner Levinson made the motion to approve of the storyboard
language with the modification. Vice-Chair Facciponti seconded the motion.
The motion was approved 5-0 by all Commission members present.
3. DISCUSSION
a. Update – Veteran’s Day Event
Commissioner Simon and Vice-Chair Facciponti met with the City of Chandler
Park and Recreation Department to discuss the Veteran’s Breakfast on
November 4, 2022. It was suggested that after the breakfast, there could be a
corn hole tournament at AJ Chandler Park. It was also suggested that an event
be held the night of November 11, 2022, with local service area groups.
Discussion ensued.
b. Update – Town Hall Event for Chandler Veterans
Vice-Chair Facciponti explained that there will be a meeting on Friday, July 15
with Commissioner Simon and Vice-Chair Facciponti and the Diversity, Equity,
and Inclusion Division from the City of Chandler to discuss the Town Hall event.
c. Service Recognition Event
Chair Dalpe said there were no updates at this time.

4. MEMBER COMMENTS/ANNOUNCEMENTS
a. Vice-Chair Facciponti informed the Commission that the Second Annual Ice
Bath Challenge will be held on Saturday, July 23, 2022, at 3 S. Arizona Ave., 85225
from 8 a.m. – noon.
5. SCHEDULED/UNSCHEDULED PUBLIC APPEARANCES
a. None.
6. CALENDAR ITEMS
b. Next meeting will be Tuesday, August 9, 2022, at 5:00 p.m.
7. ADJOURNMENT
With no further items, Chair Dalpe adjourned the meeting at 5:22p.m.
