RESOLUTION NO. 5608 
 
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHANDLER, 
ARIZONA, DESIGNATING THE CITY OF CHANDLER ECONOMIC 
DEVELOPMENT 
DIVISION 
AS 
CHANDLER’S 
DESTINATION 
MARKETING ORGANIZATION (“DMO”); AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY 
MANAGER OR THE CITY MANAGER’S DESIGNEE TO SIGN THE 
DESIGNATION OF DMO AFFIDAVIT AND EXECUTE ANY OTHER 
DOCUMENTS 
AND 
INSTRUMENTS 
FOR 
PURPOSES 
OF 
THIS 
RESOLUTION. 
 
WHEREAS, the City of Chandler Economic Development Division has served as Chandler’s 
Destination Marketing Organization (“DMO”) and worked with the Arizona Office of Tourism 
(“AOT”) since Fiscal Year 2000/2001 to promote and market Chandler tourism; and  
 
WHEREAS, the AOT requires by official action of the municipality, county, or tribal entity, the 
designation of the entity’s DMO and a position within the organization that is authorized to 
execute a Designation of DMO Affidavit on behalf of the entity, attesting that the DMO meets 
AOT requirements; and 
 
WHEREAS, the official action of the entity must be effective from July 1, 2022 until either July 
1, 2023 or indefinitely; and 
 
WHEREAS, the City of Chandler Economic Development Division recommends that the City of 
Chandler’s DMO-designation be effective indefinitely until otherwise amended. 
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Chandler, Arizona, 
as follows: 
 
Section 1. 
That the City of Chandler Economic Development Division is designated as the 
Destination Marketing Organization for the City of Chandler beginning July 1, 
2022, and effective indefinitely or until otherwise amended by the City Council of 
the City of Chandler, Arizona. 
 
Section 2. 
That the City Manager or his designee is authorized to sign the AOT’s 
Designation of Destination Marketing Organization Affidavit and execute any 
other documents and instruments as may be required by AOT and that are 
consistent with the intent of this Resolution.
