RESOLUTION NO. 5638

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND APPROVING AN
INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF
CHANDLER AND THE CITY OF TEMPE FOR THE CHANDLER POLICE
DEPARTMENT TO PROVIDE LAW ENFORCEMENT SECURITY SERVICES
AT SPECIAL EVENTS.

WHEREAS, the City of Tempe is authorized to enter into an Agreement with the City of Chandler,
and

WHEREAS, the City of Chandler, through its Police Department, wishes to provide law enforcement
security services for the City of Tempe.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Chandler, Arizona, as
follows:

Section 1. THAT approval is granted for the Chandler Police Department to provide law
enforcement security services for the City of Tempe.

Section 2. THAT the Mayor is authorized to sign the Agreement and the Chief of Police is
appointed agent for the City of Chandler, to administer, execute, and submit all
documents and any other necessary instruments in connection with said program. The
Chief of Police is authorized to approve and execute, on behalf of the City of Chandler,
any such future extensions of this Agreement under the same terms and conditions not
to exceed the duration of the original agreement.

PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Chandler, Arizona, this day
of October, 2022.
