Unscheduled Public Appearances COUNCILMEMBER-ELECT POSTON introduced herself and greeted Commissioners. Consent Agenda 1. September 13, 2022 Minutes. Approval of the September 13, 2022 Mayor’s Youth Commission minutes. Consent Agenda Motion and Vote COMMISSIONER TECK-ONG moved to approve the Consent Agenda of the September 13, 2022, Mayor's Youth Commission Meeting, Seconded by COMMISSIONER SIVAKUMARAN. Motion carried unanimously (12-0-7). (Approved – Disapproved – Not Present) Briefing 2. Volunteer Opportunity – For Our City Day (Neighborhood Resources Staff) ALEXIS APODACA introduced PRISCILLA QUINTANA, NEIGHBORHOOD RESOURCES ADMINISTRATOR and TAWNA MOWER, NEIGHBORHOOD ENHANCEMENT SPECIALIST. MISS. QUINTANA AND MISS. MOWER discussed how For Our City Day is meant to serve Chandler neighborhoods through beautification and community enhancement projects. MISS. QUINTANA talked about how they are offering MYC an opportunity to volunteer for the event and discussed volunteer opportunity logistics. Volunteers are expected to show up at 6:30am in the Pepperwood Neighborhood and will be paired with Code Inspectors for the duration of the event. For Our City Day will end at noon, and volunteers can stay for a community celebration at the park afterwards. MISS. QUINTANA provided a few For Our City Shirts as giveaways for Commissioners that provided examples of how they currently serve their community. 3. Event Debrief – Contigo Kick-Off COMMISSIONER TECK-ONG and COMMISSIONER NIGAM provided the group an update on their service at the Contigo Kick-Off. The Commissioners assisted with emptying the garbage, keeping bathrooms stocked with toilet paper and acted as event liaisons. 4. Event Debrief – Special Event Funding Panel (Commissioner Singhania) This item was held to the November meeting, as COMMISSIONER SINGHANIA was absent. 5. Presentation – Levels of Government (Alexis Apodaca) ALEXIS APODACA provided a brief presentation about the roles of the different levels of government in Arizona, including the State, County, School Board, and City. Discussion 6. Teen Leadership Academy Planning CHAIR LEE broke Commissioners into their small groups to resume Teen Leadership Academy planning. Each group makes a rough schedule for their day at the Teen Leadership Academy. Member Comments/Announcements None. Calendar 7. For Our City Day – October 22nd, Time TBD 8. The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, November 8th, 2022, at 5:00 p.m., at Chandler City Hall, 5th Floor Conference Room, 175 S. Arizona Ave., Chandler, AZ.
