Domestic Violence Commission MEETING MINUTES Wednesday, November 9, 2022 MINUTES OF THE regular Meeting of the DOMESTIC VIOLENCE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CHANDLER, ARIZONA, held at Live Love Chandler 388 N. Colorado St., Chandler, Arizona, on Wednesday, November 9, 2022. APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF THE OCTOBER 12, 2022, DOMESTIC VIOLENCE COMMISSION SUBCOMMITTEE Motion by Vice Chair Lynn Seconded by Commissioner Curtis MOTION – CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY 3. Approve Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month proclamation – tabled 4. APPROVE DV COMMISSION SUPPORT OF FIELD OF HOPE – April 16-21, 2023 Motion by Vice Chair Lynn Seconded by Commissioner Codkind MOTION – CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY 5. APPROVE PARTNERSHIP WITH LOCAL ORGANIZATIONS TO HOST ART GALLERY OF WORK FROM INTERESTED YOUTH IN THE COMMUNITY FOR HEALTHY RELATIONSHIPS Motion by Commissioner Bruno Seconded by Commissioner Curtis MOTION – CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY DISCUSSION 6. Domestic Violence Event 2023 – suggestion of Indigenous population theme. Reach out and invite possible speakers to the DV Commission meeting as a guest. 7. Community Outreach Subcommittee – Chandler School District Art teachers are excited to have art students participate with Art for the Domestic Violence Commission. We are looking for outlets who will host an Art Gallery. Suggestion to have a “pop-up” periodically. Currently have eleven schools interested in Healthy Relationship tables. Andersen Junior High School would like us there November 29th. 8. Vice Chair Lynn presentation to Military and Veterans Affairs Commission on October 8, 2022 – very supportive of the Domestic Violence Commission. They invited us to an event on December 3rd. CALENDAR Next Domestic Violence Commission meeting Wednesday, December 14, at 9:00 a.m. Next Domestic Violence Subcommittee meeting Wednesday, November 9, at 10:00 a.m. INFORMATION ITEMS Add/discuss speakers for DV Event - February agenda. Encourage others to become Commission members. Community Walk/Run on December 10th promoting Unity and celebrating Human Rights Day.
