RESOLUTION NO. 5647 A RESOLUTION CERTIFYING CONSISTENCY WITH THE CONSOLIDATED PLAN, SUPPORTING THE A.R.M. OF SAVE THE FAMILY FOUNDATION OF ARIZONA’S APPLICATION TO MARICOPA COUNTY FOR FEDERAL HOME INVESTMENT PARTNERSHIPS PROGRAM FUNDS, AND COMMITTING TO ADMINISTERING ANY RESULTANT CONTRACT. WHEREAS, The A.R.M. (Affordable Rental Movement) of Save the Family Foundation of Arizona is an Arizona non–profit Community Housing Development Organization (“CHDO”) which has a history of community service in Chandler, Arizona and has among its purposes the provision of affordable housing for low– and moderate–income households; and WHEREAS, The A.R.M. of Save the Family Foundation of Arizona has applied to Maricopa County for federal HOME Investment Partnerships Program (“HOME”) CHDO funding for the acquisition and/or rehabilitation of long–term, affordable rental property(ies) in Chandler; and WHEREAS, if funded, the City of Chandler will be the administrator of the contract between The A.R.M. of Save the Family Foundation of Arizona and Maricopa County; and WHEREAS, the activity that The A.R.M. of Save the Family Foundation of Arizona proposes is consistent with the City of Chandler’s strategic plan for HOME funds, and the location of the proposed activity is consistent with the geographic areas specified in the plan as approved by the City Council of the City of Chandler, Maricopa County, Arizona. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Chandler, Maricopa County, Arizona: Section 1. Supports The A.R.M. of Save the Family Foundation of Arizona in its application to Maricopa County for federal HOME CHDO funding and recognizes that the intended use of such funds is in conformance with the City’s Consolidated Plan. Section 2. Commits to administering the contract and approving the assignment to the City of Chandler the beneficial interests under the loan agreement, deed of trust, promissory note, restrictive covenants and any other related documents between Maricopa County and The A.R.M. of Save the Family Foundation of Arizona, if the CHDO activity is funded. Section 3. Authorizes the City Manager, or designee, to take such actions necessary to implement the provisions of this Resolution No. 5647.
