RESOLUTION NO. 5629 
 
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHANDLER, 
ARIZONA 
ACCEPTING 
REDISTRIBUTED 
EMERGENCY 
RENTAL 
ASSISTANCE PROGRAM FUNDS IN THE AMOUNT OF $623,714.25 FROM 
THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF THE TREASURY; AND 
AMENDING INTERGOVERNNMENTAL AGREEMENT NO. C-22-062-X-00 
BETWEEN THE CITY OF CHANDLER AND MARICOPA COUNTY FOR 
IMPLEMENTATION OF THE EMERGENCY RENTAL ASSITANCE 
PROGRAM; AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE THE 
AMENDMENT.  
 
WHEREAS, the United States Department of the Treasury (the “Treasury”) notified the City of 
Chandler that it would receive an additional $623,714.25 of redistributed Emergency Rental 
Assistance Program 1.0 (the “ERA 1 Program”) funds; and 
 
WHEREAS, the ERA 1 Program and Emergency Rental Assistance Program 2.0 (the “ERA 2 
Program”) (collectively, the ERA 1 Program and ERA 2 Program are referred to as the “ERA 
Program”) provide rental and utility assistance for COVID-impacted residents located in the City 
of Chandler; and 
 
WHEREAS, the City of Chandler and Maricopa County executed Intergovernmental Agreement 
No. C-22-22-062-X-00 (the “IGA”) effective December 6, 2021 to establish the terms and 
conditions by which the City of Chandler will provide Maricopa County with Treasury ERA 
Program funds for distribution to Chandler residents; and 
 
WHEREAS, the Parties desire to amend the IGA to add a portion of the additional ERA 1 Program 
funds received from the Treasury in accordance with the terms of Amendment 1 attached hereto 
as Exhibit “A”; and 
 
WHEREAS, as a result of an adjustment to the original award made by the Treasury the Parties 
desire to amend the IGA to decrease the amount of ERA 2 Program funds received from the 
Treasury in accordance with the terms of Amendment 1 attached hereto as Exhibit “A”; and  
 
WHEREAS, Maricopa County has utilized Maricopa County ERA 1 and ERA 2 funds to serve 
Chandler residents in excess of the amount of Chandler ERA 2 Program funds adjusted by the 
Treasury. 
 
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Chandler, Arizona, 
as follows: 
 
Section 1. 
That the City of Chandler accepts redistributed ERA1 Program funds in the amount 
 
of $623,714.25 from the United States Department of the Treasury.

Section 2. 
That Amendment 1 to the IGA between the City of Chandler and Maricopa 
 
County acting by and through the Maricopa County Human Services Department 
 
is approved in substantially the form attached hereto as Exhibit “A.” 
 
Section 3. 
That the Mayor of the City of Chandler, Arizona is authorized to execute 
Amendment 1 to the IGA on behalf of the City of Chandler.
