CITIZENS’ PANEL FOR REVIEW OF POLICE COMPLAINTS AND USE OF FORCE REGULAR MEETING MINUTES july 12, 2022 1. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES a. Minutes of April 5, 2022 Panel member Slate moved to approve the minutes of the April 5, 2022 Citizens’ Panel for Review of Police Complaints and Use of Force meeting. Panel member Pennington-Askey seconded the motion. The minutes were approved by all Panel members present. 3. SCHEDULED/UNSCHEDULED PUBLIC APPEARANCES/CALL TO PUBLIC a. None 4, ACTION AGENDA a. Review and discuss the 2021 Use of Force Analysis Panel member Slate moved to approve the Analysis, seconded by Panel member Pennington-Askey. The motion carried unanimously. b. Review and discuss the Use of Force Summary of the first quarter of 2022, to include three videos from body worn cameras There were questions and discussion, but no questions specific to the use of force. Panel member Slate moved to approve the Summary, seconded by Panel member Zamora. The motion carried unanimously. c. Review and discuss the Council memo for the Annual Report: Citizen's Panel for Review of Police Complaints and Use of Force, July 1, 202 - June 30, 2022 Panel member Slate moved to approve the Memo, seconded by Panel member Ingersoll. The motion carried unanimously. The motion was approved by all Panel members present. 5. BRIEFING ITEMS a. None 6. ANNOUNCEMENTS a. Cmdr, Pérez introduced newly appointed Panel members James Bogert, Tamra Ingersoll, Dawn Vukanovich, and Carlos Lozano 7. CALENDAR/FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS Next meeting will be Tuesday, October 4, 2022. | 8. INFORMATION ITEMS Elections for Chairman and Vice Chairman will be held next meeting Tuesday, October 4, 2022. 9. ADJOURNMENT Panel member Zamora moved to adjourn, seconded by Panel member Ingersoll. CALENDAR/FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS Next meeting will be Tuesday, October 4, 2022. 4, ADJOURNMENT Panel member Rooney moved to adjourn, seconded by Panel member Ingersoll. The motion was approved by all Panel members present, and the meeting adjourned at approximately 6:05 p.m.
