Resolution No. 5667 Forestry Grant

RESOLUTION NO. 5667 
 
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHANDLER, 
ARIZONA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY TO ENTER INTO A GRANT 
AGREEMENT WITH THE ARIZONA DEPARTMENT OF FORESTRY AND 
FIRE MANAGEMENT IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $40,000 FOR USE 
TOWARDS A TREE INVENTORY, TREE ASSET MANAGEMENT 
SOFTWARE SYSTEM, AND AN URBAN FOREST MANAGEMENT PLAN; 
AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER, OR DESIGNEE, TO EXECUTE 
THE GRANT AGREEMENT. 
 
WHEREAS, Arizona Department of Forestry and Fire Management (“DFFM”) has sub-awarded to 
the City of Chandler (“City”) up to $40,000 of federal grant funds from the United States 
Department of Agriculture, Forest Service; and 
 
WHEREAS, the grant funds are paid on a cost-reimbursement basis and are subject to a 50% cost 
share match; and 
 
WHEREAS, the grant funds will partially fund a tree inventory, tree asset management software 
system, and urban forest management plan; and 
 
WHEREAS, the City and DFFM have created Grant Agreement No. CCG22-103 (the “Agreement”) 
to govern the grant terms. 
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Chandler, Arizona: 
 
Section 1.    Approves the Agreement between the City of Chandler and DFFM, in substantially 
the form attached hereto as Exhibit “A” and incorporated herein by reference. 
 
Section 2.   Authorizes the Mayor of the City of Chandler, the City Manager, or designee to 
accept the funds and execute the Agreement on behalf of the City of Chandler and 
to take all actions necessary or appropriate to carry out the terms of the Agreement.
