Call to Order 
The meeting was called to order by Barbara Meyerson at 5:31 p.m.

Consent Agenda  
1. January 2023 Museum Foundation Executive Subcommittee Meeting Minutes 
 Joan Clark made a motion to approve the meeting minutes from January 3, 2023.  
 Tom Escobedo seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously (3-0). The minutes 
were approved as written.

Action Agenda  
2. Recommend Moving the Museum Foundation Board Meeting from Monday, June 19, 2023, 
to Tuesday, June 20, 2023, due to the Juneteenth Holiday. 
 Joan Clark made a motion to recommend moving the Museum Foundation Board 
Meeting from Monday, June 19, 2023, to Tuesday, June 20, 2023, due to the 
Juneteenth Holiday.  
 Tom Escobedo seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously (3-0). 
 The City of Chandler is recognizing Juneteenth as an official City holiday, beginning in 
June 2023. Most City buildings/offices will be closed. 
 This will be brought forth to the full board at the board meeting on February 21, 2023. 
 
3. Recommend Approving Payment in the Amount of $5,000 for the Silk Stocking 
Neighborhood History Video. 
 Tom Escobedo made a motion to recommend approving payment in the amount of 
$5,000 for the Silk Stocking Neighborhood History Video, with the amendment that a 
detailed invoice will be brought forth to the full board at the next board meeting. 
 Joan Clark seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously (3-0). 
 Jody Crago provided details.  
o The Chandler Historical Society (CHS) hired a videographer to create a 
historical video about the Silk Stocking District when the CHS was still in 
existence.  
o The video was viewed by the Executive Subcommittee at this meeting.  
o There was a delay in the video completion due to the main person being 
interviewed became ill.  
o The presumption was that the videographer had been paid before the CHS 
disbanded, but this was not the case. Payment to the videographer is still 
owed. 
o The video will become a part of the Museum Collection.  
 
4. Cancel Marth 6th Museum Foundation Executive Subcommittee Meeting in lieu of the Board 
Retreat.  
 Joan Clark made a motion to cancel the Museum Foundation Executive 
Subcommittee Meeting on March 6, 2023, in lieu of the board retreat.  
 Tom Escobedo seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously (3-0).

Briefing 
5. Discuss Museum Theater Project and Budget 
 Discussion ensued on a possible new project to be held at the Museum. 
 A local performer and the Museum staff are working together on this development.  
 The project is fictionalized oral histories on a few black families who came here 
during the Dust Bowl Era.  
 The performance would take place in the Picturing Home Exhibition.  
 More information will be brought to the Executive Subcommittee at the April 
meeting.  
 
6. Discuss Next Topic for the Museum Board Moment 
 There will not be a Museum Board Moment at the next Museum Foundation Board 
Meeting.  
 
7. Review Agenda for the Next Museum Foundation Board Meeting 
 Topics for the next Museum Foundation Board Meeting were reviewed.  
 In addition to the standing items, a presentation on the Tumbleweed Ranch 
Conceptual Masterplan has been tentatively added.  
o Jody Crago will invite the architects of the masterplan, Weddle Gilmore, to the 
March board meeting.

9. The Museum Foundation Board Retreat will be held on Monday, March 6, 2023, at 8:30 
a.m., at the Chandler Museum, Saguaro Room, 300 S. Chandler Village Drive, in Chandler, 
Arizona.  
 
10. The next Executive Subcommittee Meeting will be held on Monday, April 3, 2023, at 5:30 
p.m., at the Chandler Museum, Saguaro Room, 300 S. Chandler Village Drive, in Chandler,
