Jan, who lives in the Orange Tree neighborhood adjacent to the proposed Honeysuckle development, called to express her opinion that adding 42 residential units would destroy the neighborhood because it would add 84 vehicles (2 per unit) to the ingress/egress traffic of that neighborhood. Jan stated that she’s lived there since the subdivision was constructed in 1983 and remembers when the developer donated the retention area to the church. In response to a question that I asked, she stated that having a city park and a city maintained retention basin that meets engineering standards to hold water from significant storm events is not worth adding 42 units. In response to another question that I asked her she stated that she would rather have a charter school built there instead of 42 units. She stated that larger lot single family homes would also be acceptable to her, but definitely not “cramming” 42 units or more. Needless to say, she is opposed to the proposal. I thanked her for contacting us to share her opinion and told her that I would document her comments for the file. Is a traffic signal included in the plans for bullmoose on either side of Warner? Morning and evenings you now have to shoot into the center turn lane heading west from the south or east from the north side of Warner because of traffic volume and high speed of vehicles. 40+ more houses at the corner will only add to the dangerous situation now existing. As to the property in question, this area is already overwhelmed with people, traffic and the congestion they cause. To add to this is uncalled for. Already there is a multi-family apartment complex called Dobson Town Center and this has been nothing but one problem after another with noise, crime and other non-stop problems you cannot add another complex similar to this. I live in the county island adjacent to the proposed project and my address is 2125 N 91st place. I just received the notification of public hearing for the Honeysuckle Trail project. I have been scheduled for heart surgery on June 6th and I will not be able to attend the meeting. I don't know if there's going to be any voting for approval of this project but I wanted to reach out and voice my opposition to the project due to the density of housing that they propose on putting in where the church currently is.
