Resolution No. 5708, Adopting the Annual Budget in the Amount of $1,656,274,385; Setting 
Forth the Receipts and Expenditures; and the Amounts Proposed to be Raised by Direct 
Property Taxation for the Various Purposes for Fiscal Year (FY) 2023-24, and Adopting the 2024-
2033 Capital Improvement Program (CIP) in the Amount of $1,963,967,457 Click to View 
Move City Council pass and adopt Resolution No. 5708, adopting the Annual Budget in the 
amount of $1,656,274,385; setting forth the receipts and expenditures; and the amounts 
proposed to be raised by direct property taxation for the various purposes for FY 2023-24, and 
adopting the 2024-2033 CIP in the amount of $1,963,967,457, as presented or amended after 
the close of the public hearing. 
 
Action Agenda Motion and Vote 
Councilmember Stewart moved to approve Resolution No. 5708, Adopting the Annual Budget in the 
Amount of $1,656,274; Seconded by Councilmember Ellis.

Motion carried unanimously (7-0). 
 
Current Events 
Mayor's Announcements 
MAYOR HARTKE announced a ribbon cutting event for Bechtel on June 27 and thanked the 
Economic Development team for their work in this endeavor. Chandler is a top destination for 
tech companies offering a business-friendly climate and a world-class labor force, we are excited 
to welcome Bechtel to Chandler.  
 
MAYOR HARTKE announced that the Downtown Chandler Community Partnership was hosting a 
Floaties and Root Beer Floats promotion on June 21 across various downtown Chandler 
businesses.  
 
MAYOR HARTKE wished everyone a happy Father’s Day.  
 
Council's Announcements 
COUNCILMEMBER ENCINAS wished everyone a happy Pride month, celebrating history, freedom, 
and kindness. Chandler passed the Non-Discrimination Ordinance last year and policies like the 
NDO make our community members feel more at home.  
 
COUNCILMEMBER ELLIS said that the Miss Juneteenth Arizona scholarship program event will take 
place June 16, at Chandler Center for the Arts at 6:00 p.m. Workshops focus on career 
opportunities, budgeting, current events, and more. Councilmember Ellis wished competitors 
good luck. 
 
COUNCILMEMBER ELLIS wished everyone a happy Caribbean American Heritage Month.  
 
VICE MAYOR ORLANDO shared the accomplishments of previous Miss Juneteenth winners. 
 
COUNCILMEMBER STEWART said Sunday, June 18, Chandler Men of Action will be holding a mixer 
event at Founding Fathers.  
 
COUNCILMEMBER STEWART recognized the Economic Development department as Chandler was 
awarded the Arizona Chamber of Commerce Best City for Business award.  
 
COUNCILMEMBER HARRIS shared Chandler is celebrating Juneteenth during Freedom Week by 
closing City offices, Culture Music in the Park on Saturday, June 17 in Dr. A. J. Chandler Park at 7:00 
p.m. and West Alley BBQ.  
 
COUNCILMEMBER HARRIS commented that Gen Korean BBQ House is now open at 1852 W 
Chandler Blvd.

COUNCILMEMBER POSTON shared that the grand opening of Raley’s Bashas Support Center is a 
great investment in Bashas legacy business.  
 
City Manager's Announcements 
JOSHUA WRIGHT, City Manager, thanked Mayor and Council for their comments on the FY23-24 
budget, and the Budget team for putting the document together.
