March 2023 Domestic Violence Commission Meeting Minutes Move Domestic Violence Commission approve the meeting minutes of the April 12, 2023 regular meeting. Approval of Minutes for Domestic Violence Commission Subcommittee Motion to approve Domestic Violence Commission Subcommittee Minutes of April 12, 2023 Motion: Commissioner Flippen Seconded: Commissioner Codkind UNANIMOUS APPROVAL 3. Appoint Chair for Domestic Violence Commission Move to approve Chelsea Grieve as Chair for Domestic Violence Commission Motion: Commissioner Fessel Seconded: Commissioner Lim UNANIMOUS APPROVAL 4. Appoint Vice Chair for Domestic Violence Commission Move to approve Teresa Lynn as Vice Chair for Domestic Violence Commission Motion: Commissioner Codkind Seconded: Commissioner Flippen UNANIMOUS APPROVAL Discussion 5. Domestic Violence Event 2023 – discussion on artwork for Save the Date and flyers - Katie Cain will check with CAPA about social media – Commissioner Flippen will check into Facebook, LinkedIn, Eventbrite, etc. - Commissioner Hinchey will be contacting speakers - Email will go out asking for ideas for food and decorations - we have black tablecloths to go with the purple – Chair Grieve will check on Resource tables – Boys & Girls Club youth to do some decorations – possibly have handprints in hallway. 6. Domestic Violence Community Outreach Subcommittee – interacted with 27 students at Chief Hill Academy. Cancellation of the DV Commission attending Chandler Unified School District Meeting tonight to present update on the Healthy Relationships activity with the students. Turn Chandler Purple, Councilmember Ellis will be approaching Council about this event. 7. Field of Hope – Powerful event. Great speakers. 128 flags were raised to represent 128 children’s death due to child abuse and neglect. Good turnout. May be doing it earlier in the month for 2024 for Child Abuse Awareness Month and having resource tables in the San Marcos courtyard.
