RESOLUTION NO. 5721 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHANDLER, ARIZONA, APPROVING AMENDMENT NUMBER FIVE TO THE INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT FOR TRANSIT SERVICES BETWEEN THE REGIONAL PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION AUTHORITY AND THE CITY OF CHANDLER TO PROVIDE FIXED ROUTE BUS, PARATRANSIT, AND RIDECHOICE SERVICES FOR FISCAL YEAR 2023/2024 IN AN ESTIMATED AMOUNT OF $465,573. WHEREAS, the City of Chandler desires to provide Fixed Route Bus, Paratransit, and RideChoice transportation services to its citizens, including those with disabilities and the elderly; and WHEREAS, a seven-year Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) to provide Fixed Route Bus, Paratransit, and Ride Choice transportation services was entered between the City of Chandler and the Regional Public Transportation Authority (RPTA) dated July 1, 2018; and WHEREAS, an amendment to the IGA between the City of Chandler and the RPTA is required in order to, among other things, reflect new rate schedules applicable to the Fixed Route Bus, Paratransit, and RideChoice transportation services provided under the IGA for citizens of the City of Chandler. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Chandler, Arizona, as follows: Section 1. Approving the terms and conditions of Amendment Number Five to the IGA with RPTA to provide Fixed Route Bus, Paratransit, and Ride Choice transportation services to the City of Chandler for FY 2023/2024. Section 2. Authorizing the Mayor to sign and execute the Amendment Number Five of the IGA on behalf of the City of Chandler. Section 3. Authorizing the expenditure of public funds in an estimated amount of $465,573. PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Chandler, Arizona, this ____ day of August, 2023.
