Approval of Domestic Violence Commission Subcommittee Minutes of June 14, 2023 Motion to approve Domestic Violence Commission Subcommittee Minutes of June 14, 2023 Motion: Commissioner Flippen Seconded: Commissioner Codkind UNANIMOUS APPROVAL 4. Motion to approve the proposal of a Sexual Assault Awareness Month Proclamation for April 2024 Motion: Commissioner Curtis Seconded: Commissioner Codkind UNANIMOUS APPROVAL 5. Motion to bring DV Awareness Month proclamation to City Council – pending Chief of Police approval Motion: Commissioner DuCharme Seconded: Vice Chair Lynn UNANIMOUS APPROVAL Discussion 6. Domestic Violence Event 2023 – September 26 from 10 am – 12 pm at AVION Center Commissioners Codkind, Hinchey and Flippen spoke about the contacts they had made regarding speakers, survivor speakers and food for the event. Speakers need to be in contact with the ACESDV. Need the flyer to send out. For tables, possibly have flowers, baskets, dried corn or succulent plants. Commissioner Hinchey will contact vendors regarding food. Maybe have a display of items or information about Native culture. Fact Sheets to be displayed on the monitors. Information was handed out regarding social media ideas. Katie Cain will check with CAPA about city social media. Updates will be sent to Katie Cain by July 28, 2023 and she will send out an update to all Commissioners. 7. Domestic Violence Community Outreach Subcommittee Turn Chandler Purple – October 2nd, 2023 is being proposed by Councilmember Ellis Page 3 of 3 Field of Hope April 7, 2024 – DV Commission letter of support was submitted to the City and helps finalize the reservation of AJ Park Member Comments/Announcements August Action Item – Approval of letter of support for Week Without Violence Calendar 7. Next Regular Domestic Violence Committee meeting on August 9, 2023 at 9:00 AM 8.
