RESOLUTION NO. 5722 
 
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHANDLER, 
ARIZONA, 
APPROVING 
AMENDMENT 
NUMBER 
ONE 
TO 
THE 
INTERGOVERNMENTAL 
AGREEMENT 
BETWEEN 
THE 
ARIZONA 
DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION (ADOT) AND THE CITY OF 
CHANDLER 
FOR 
THE 
CONSTRUCTION 
AND 
ASSOCIATED 
MAINTENANCE OF ADOT’S LOOP 202 (PRICE ROAD TO VAL VISTA 
DRIVE) FREEWAY WIDENING PROJECT.  
 
WHEREAS, in December 2022, the City and ADOT entered into an intergovernmental agreement 
(“IGA”) defining roles and responsibilities for the construction and associated maintenance of 
ADOT’s planned Loop 202 freeway widening project between Price Road to Val Vista Drive (the 
“Project”); and   
 
WHEREAS, the City requested that ADOT perform additional mill and overlay work on city 
arterial streets in conjunction with the Project; and  
 
WHEREAS, ADOT requested that the City reconstruct certain curb ramps and sidewalks that 
require easements to be obtained prior to the completion of the Project; and 
 
WHEREAS, the parties wish to amend the IGA to incorporate these changes and revise the Project 
costs and parties’ responsibilities. 
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Chandler, Arizona, 
as follows: 
 
Section 1. 
Approving Amendment No. One (ADOT contract no. 23-0009168-I) to the 
Intergovernmental Agreement between ADOT and the City of Chandler (ADOT 
contract no. 21-0008107-I). 
 
Section 2. 
Authorizing the Mayor to sign and execute Amendment No. One (ADOT contract 
no. 23-0009168-I) on behalf of the City of Chandler.
