RESOLUTION NO. 5731 
 
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHANDLER, 
ARIZONA, APPROVING AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE MARICOPA 
ASSOCIATION OF GOVERNMENTS AND THE CITY OF CHANDLER TO 
CONDUCT AN ARIZONA AVENUE SHARED USE PATH STUDY AND 
CITYWIDE PEDESTRIAN CONNECTIVITY STUDY IN AN AMOUNT NOT 
TO EXCEED $100,000. 
 
WHEREAS, the City of Chandler desires to develop a shared use path study along the eastern side 
of Arizona Avenue and a citywide pedestrian connectivity study; and 
 
WHEREAS, the Maricopa Association of Governments (MAG) is a recipient of Surface 
Transportation Block Grant Program Funds to support these studies in the amount of $75,000, with 
a required local match in the amount of $100,000; and 
 
WHEREAS, an active transportation project agreement between the City of Chandler and MAG 
is required in order to authorize MAG to manage a consultant contract for the studies on behalf of 
the City, and to authorize the City to pay MAG $100,000 to be used to fund the contract. 
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Chandler, Arizona, 
as follows:  
 
Section 1. 
Approving the Active Transportation Project Agreement No. 1137A-0C-Task 
Order 18 for an Arizona Avenue shared use path study and a City of Chandler 
pedestrian connectivity study. 
 
Section 2. 
Authorizing the Mayor to sign said agreement on behalf of the City of Chandler.  
 
Section 3. 
Authorizing the expenditure of public funds in an amount not to exceed $100,000.
