Page 2 of 5 Consent Agenda Motion and Vote Fire Member Elect Vargas moved to approve the Consent Agenda of the January 4, 2023, Regular Public Safety Fire Personnel Retirement Board Meeting. Motion was seconded by Citizen Member Remington. Motion carried unanimously (4-0). Executive Session – Pursuant to A.R.S. Section 38-431.02 (A), the Chandler Local Fire Public Safety Personnel Retirement Board may vote to convene in executive session to discuss or consider confidential records exempt by law from public inspection and/or to consult with Board’s attorney for legal advice and to consider the Board’s position and to instruct the Board’s attorney regarding its position on items 2-7. The Board will take action on those items in open session. Action Agenda Item No. 2 and Discussion 2. Review Pre-Existing Medical Condition(s) for Firefighter Austin McBurney Consideration, Discussion and Appropriate Action for Pre-existing Medical Condition(s) review for Firefighter Austin McBurney. Executive Session – Chairperson Turner asked for a motion to end the Open Session and to move to Executive Session for legal advice and confidential medical review. Fire Member Elect Jensen made a motion to end the Open Session and to move into Executive Session for legal advice and confidential medical review in matter Action Agenda Item No. 2-7. Citizen Member Remington seconded the motion, and the vote was unanimous to end the Open Session and move into Executive Session at 8:32 a.m. Open Session – Chairperson Turner asked for a motion to end the Executive Session and move into Open Session. Citizen Member Remington made the motion to end the Executive Session and move into Open Session; Fire Elect Member Vargas seconded the motion, and the vote was unanimous to end the Executive Session and move into Open Session at 8:47 a.m. Action Agenda Item No. 2 Motion and Vote Fire Member Elect Jensen moved to declare one pre-existing condition as noted on the Pre-Existing Form from the Phoenix Health Center for Austin McBurney; Agenda Item No. 2 of the January 4, 2023, Regular Public Safety Fire Personnel Retirement Board; Fire Member Elect Vargas seconded the motion. Action Agenda Item No. 3 Motion and Vote Fire Member Elect Jensen moved to declare one pre-existing condition as noted on the Pre-Existing Form from the Phoenix Health Center for Ryan Ruff; Agenda Item No. 3 of the January 4, 2023, Regular Public Safety Fire Personnel Retirement Board; Fire Member Elect Vargas seconded the motion. Review Pre-Existing Medical Condition(s) for Firefighter Maurice Turner Consideration, Discussion and Appropriate Action for Pre-existing Medical Condition(s) review for Firefighter Maurice Turner. Action Agenda Item No. 4 Motion and Vote Fire Member Elect Jensen moved to declare two pre-existing conditions as noted on the Pre- Existing Form from the Phoenix Health Center for Maurice Turner; Agenda Item No. 4 of the January 4, 2023, Regular Public Safety Fire Personnel Retirement Board; Fire Member Elect Vargas seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously (4-0) Action Agenda Item No. 5 and Discussion 5. Review Pre-Existing Medical Condition(s) for Firefighter Tayton Montgomery Consideration, Discussion and Appropriate Action for Pre-existing Medical Condition(s) review for Firefighter Tayton Montgomery. Action Agenda Item No. 5 Motion and Vote Fire Member Elect Jensen moved to declare two pre-existing conditions as noted on the Pre- Existing Form from the Phoenix Health Center for Tayton Montgomery; Agenda Item No. 5 of the Page 4 of 5 January 4, 2023, Regular Public Safety Fire Personnel Retirement Board; Fire Member Elect Vargas seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously (4-0) Action Agenda Item No. 6 and Discussion 6. Review Pre-Existing Medical Condition(s) for Firefighter Murvin Gordon III Consideration, Discussion and Appropriate Action for Pre-existing Medical Condition(s) review for Firefighter Murvin Gordon III. Action Agenda Item No. 6 Motion and Vote Fire Member Elect Jensen moved to declare one pre-existing condition as noted on the Pre-Existing Form from the Phoenix Health Center for Murvin Gordon III; Agenda Item No. 6 of the January 4, 2023, Regular Public Safety Fire Personnel Retirement Board; Fire Member Elect Vargas seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously (4-0) Action Agenda Item No. 7 and Discussion 7. Local Board Rules Consideration, Discussion and Appropriate Action regarding the Rules and Procedures of the Local Boards. Action Agenda Item No. 7 Motion and Vote Fire Member Elect Vargas moved to approve as presented the updated Rules and Procedures of the Local Boards; Item No. 7 of the January 4, 2023, Regular Public Safety Fire Personnel Retirement Board; Fire Member Elect Jensen seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously (4-0) Discussion 8. PSPRS Annual Conference The PSPRS 2023 Annual Employer & Local Board Conference will be held Wednesday, March 1, 2023. The conference is the same day as the regular Local Retirement Board Meeting. Members were invited to sign up and meeting date will be rescheduled or cancelled based on agenda items.
