Subject: Program Year (PY) 2023 Fiscal Year (FY) 2024 WIOA Title | Funding Allocations

ALERT Purpose:
To provide the Arizona LWDAs with the WIOA Title | funding allocations for PY2023 / FY2024 and

provide key dates for the allocations. The End Date and Final Report Due Dates for Rapid Response -
Work Based Learning funding occur one year earlier than for all other allocations.

The ALERTS are subject to change as additional information is received by DERS pertaining to the
funding sources identified. ALERTS are available on the Division website using the link:

Period of Availability for Expenditure of WIOA Title | Funds:
Pursuant to 20 CFR 683.110, funds allocated by a State to a LWDA under subpart - A sections 128(b)

and 133(b), for any Program year are available for expenditure only during that program year and the
succeeding program year. Funds that are not expended by a LWDA in the two-year period described in
paragraph (b) (1) of section 128 (b) and 133(b) of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act shall be
returned to the State. Funds so returned are available for expenditure by State and local recipients and
sub recipients only during the third program year of availability. These funds may be used for statewide
projects or distributed to other LWDAs, which had fully expended their allocation of funds for the same
program year within the two-year period.

LWDAs that have fully executed a WIOA Title 1 Employment Services Intergovernmental Agreement
(IGA), may begin spending against these allocations. Should there be any change to the grant award
funding amounts, the allocations will be adjusted accordingly, and a revised ALERT will be issued.
