The meeting was called to order by Joan Clark at 5:35 p.m.

Consent Agenda  
1. June 2022 Museum Foundation Strategic Planning Subcommittee Meeting Minutes 
 This Consent Agenda Item was Withdrawn. 
 
Action Agenda  
2.   Assign a Strategic Planning Subcommittee Member to Each of the Strategic Plan Framework    
Goals. 
 Martin Sepulveda made a motion to assign a Strategic Planning Subcommittee 
Member to each of the Strategic Plan Framework Goals.

 Tom Escobedo seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously (5-0).  
 Each subcommittee member will refine the goal and add the tasks to their assigned 
goal. 
 Various documents are included in this meeting packet that can be used as resources 
and/or tools to firm up the assigned goal.   
 Strengths and experience of each subcommittee member were used to determine 
goal assignments.  
 Joan Clark amended the original motion to be: Assign a Strategic Planning 
Subcommittee Member to Each of the Strategic Plan Framework Goals as follows: 
o Brenda Abney – Goal 1: Develop the capacity of the Board to fulfill its Mission 
by creating a Governance Subcommittee.  
o Martin Sepulveda – Goal 2: Build awareness of an engagement with the 
Museum and Foundation at the local, state, and national level by engaging 
three partnership or collaboration opportunities.  
o Tom Escobedo – Goal 3: Increase financial support for the Museum by $XX,XXX 
in two years.  
 Brenda Abney seconded the amended motion. Amended motion carried 
unanimously (5-0). 
 
Briefing 
3. Review Chandler Museum Strategic Plan Template. 
 The Strategic Plan Template included in the meeting packet was reviewed.  
 The subcommittee member will work on their assigned goal to make it concise and 
add strategies to support the goal and tasks to support each strategy.  
 Brenda Abney, Martin Sepulveda, and Tom Escobedo will send their completed 
template of their goal to Joan Clark.  
 Clark and Barbara Meyerson will compile the information received and create a draft 
of the Strategic Planning Goals.  
 The Strategic Planning Subcommittee Members will review the draft Strategic 
Planning Goals at the next subcommittee meeting, which is scheduled for November 
27, 2023.  
 The subcommittee will meet in December to vote on recommending the final version 
of the Strategic Planning Goals to the full board. No date has yet been set for the 
December subcommittee meeting.  
 The plan is to present the draft Strategic Planning Goals to the full board at the 
board’s January meeting and then the final version for voting at the board’s February 
meeting.  
 
4. Review Final Tally of Strategic Planning Sorting – December 6, 2021 
 This information is in the packet.

5. Discuss format of Chandler Museum Foundation Strategic Plan 2024-2027 
 The format of the Chandler Museum Foundation Strategic Plan 2024-2027 will follow 
a more traditional format.  
 
6. Discuss Completion of Chandler Museum Foundation Strategic Plan 2024-2027– Draft Text 
 Once the Strategic Planning Subcommittee finalizes the draft version of the Museum 
Foundation Strategic Plan 2024-2027, it will be brought to the full board for review 
and approval.
