AN ORDINANCE OF THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF 
BUCKEYE, ARIZONA, INCREASING THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF 
THE CITY OF BUCKEYE, MARICOPA COUNTY, STATE OF 
ARIZONA, 
PURSUANT 
TO 
THE 
PROVISIONS 
OF 
TITLE 9, 
CHAPTER 4, ARTICLE 7, ARIZONA REVISED STATUTES AND 
AMENDMENTS THERETO, BY APPROVING THE TRANSFER OF 
CERTAIN MARICOPA COUNTY RIGHTS-OF-WAY AND ROADWAYS 
ON MCDOWELL ROAD WEST OF PERRYVILLE ROAD AND ON 
PERRYVILLE ROAD NORTH OF MCDOWELL ROAD. 
WHEREAS, the City of Buckeye, Arizona ("City") desires to increase the corporate limits 
of the City to include certain Maricopa County rights-of-way and roadways located on McDowell 
Road West of Perryville Road and on Perryville Road North of McDowell Road as described and 
depicted in the attached Exhibit A and Exhibit B respectively, incorporated herein by this express 
reference; and 
WHEREAS, Arizona Revised Statutes ("A.R.S.") § 9-471(0) provides that a county right-
of-way or roadway may be transferred to an adjacent city or town by mutual consent of the governing 
bodies of the county and the receiving city, if the county and the city each approve the proposed 
transfer as a published agenda item at regular public meetings of their respective governing bodies; 
and 
WHEREAS, pursuant to A.R.S. § 9-471(0), property so transferred shall be treated as 
though it were newly annexed territory. 
NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED, by the Mayor and City Council of the City of 
Buckeye, Arizona, as follows: 
Section 1. 
The foregoing recitals are incorporated as if fully set forth herein. 
Section 2. 
Pursuant to the provisions of A.R.S. § 9-471(0), the City hereby approves 
and consents to the transfer by Maricopa County to the City of the County rights-of-way and 
roadways described and depicted in Exhibits A and B. 
Section 3. 
Upon approval by the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors, the rights-of-
way and roadways described and depicted in Exhibits A and B shall be treated by the City as newly 
annexed territory.

Section 4. 
The Mayor, City Manager, City Clerk, and the City Attorney are hereby 
authorized and directed to take all steps and to execute all documents necessary to carry out the 
purpose and intent of this ordinance, and to ensure that a copy of this Ordinance, together with 
documentation of approval by the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors, is recorded in the Office 
of the Maricopa County Recorder.
