MILITARY & VETERAN’S AFFAIRS COMMISSION 
REGULAR MEETING MINUTES 
NOVEMBER 14, 2023 
 
 
1. CALL TO ORDER/ROLL CALL 
Chair Dalpe called the meeting to order on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, at 5:00 p.m.

2. ACTION AGENDA 
a. Approval of the Minutes of the Military and Veterans Affairs Commission Regular 
Meeting of October 10, 2023  
 
Chair Dalpe requested a motion for approval of the minutes for the October 10, 2023, 
Military and Veterans Affairs Commission meeting.  Commissioner Waltzer made the 
motion to approve the minutes of the October 10, 2023, minutes.  Vice-chair Facciponti 
seconded the motion. 
 
 
The minutes were approved 6-0 by all Commission members present.  
 
3. DISCUSSION 
 
a. Military Appreciation Breakfast

Vice-Chair Facciponti indicated that attendance was at an all-time high and a waiting list 
was established. The set-up from the Recreation Division was greatly appreciated.  
Commissioner Farabee suggested that for next year, veterans ninety years and older be 
recognized.  Discussion ensued. 
 
b. Veteran’s Day Event 
 
Chair Dalpe stated that next event should include a diversification of speakers.  Vice-Chair 
Facciponti indicated that attendance was low and that the Commission should use their 
connections to spread word about the event.  Discussion ensued. 
 
 
4. MEMBER COMMENTS/ANNOUNCEMENTS 
 
a. Chair Dalpe shared with the Commission that the Pearl Harbor Day celebration would be 
moved from December 7th to December 9th.   
 
5. SCHEDULED/UNSCHEDULED PUBLIC APPEARANCES 
 
a. None 
 
6. CALENDAR ITEMS  
a. The next meeting will be January 9, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. 
 
7. ADJOURNMENT 
 
With no further items, Chair Dalpe adjourned the meeting at 5:19 p.m.
