RESOLUTION NO. 5783 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHANDLER, ARIZONA APPROVING A MASTER INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF CHANDLER AND MARICOPA COUNTY; AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO SIGN ALL DOCUMENTS AND TAKE ALL ACTIONS NECESSARY AND APPROPRIATE TO CARRY OUT THE TERMS OF THE AGREEMENT. WHEREAS, the City of Chandler (“City”) and Maricopa County (“County”) each maintain park systems within the City and offer recreational and other opportunities to residents; and WHEREAS, the City and the County desire to perform joint recreational programs, educational programs, events, etc. that would benefit residents of Chandler; and WHEREAS, the City and County will enter into an intergovernmental agreement (“IGA”) that, as projects are identified, will be supplemented by individual Scope of Work Statements, to be approved in accordance with the City’s existing purchasing policies, that describe each specific activity and the applicable budget. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Chandler, Arizona as follows: Section 1. Approves the IGA between the City and County for shared recreational opportunities within the County park system in substantially the form attached hereto as Exhibit “A” and incorporated herein by reference. Section 2. Authorizes the Mayor of the City of Chandler to execute the IGA on behalf of the City. Section 3. Authorizes the City Manager or designee to sign all other documents and instruments, including Scope of Work Statements, in connection with the IGA and take any action necessary or appropriate to carry out the purposes of this item.
