Meeting Minutes Domestic Violence Commission Community Outreach Subcommittee Regular Meeting February 14, 2024 - 10:00 a.m. Council Chambers Conference Room 88 E. Chicago Street, Chandler, AZ Call to Order The meeting was called to order at 10:00 a.m. Roll Call Commission Attendance Staff Attendance Commissioner LaTisha Codkind Katie Cain, Staff Liaison, Chandler Police Dept Commissioner Dawn Curtis Commissioner Chelsea Grieve Commissioner Salina Imam Scheduled and Unscheduled Public Appearances Veronica Vierra – Victim Services Mark Whitaker/The Exchange Club - Field of Hope 2024 – April 14-19 – setup on Sunday afternoon and dedication ceremony will take place on Sunday evening. Exchange Club is looking for survivor speaker or a survivor’s story. Mark Whitaker is working with city events’ staff. He will come to the March Domestic Violence Commission with an update of his event. Discussion 1. Discuss Community Outreach opportunities - Commissioner Fessel will work on CUSD Healthy Relationship - Workshop to follow the Genogram after the DV Event – partner with Library – would need curriculum to submit to the Library – or share with other organizations Page 2 of 2 - LaTisha Codkind will be the DV Commission representative speaking at the Field of Hope Event - International Mother’s Language Day – this weekend at Tumbleweed - Another event on April 19th in Tempe that Commission Imam will send info to Katie Member Comments/Announcements Calendar The next Domestic Violence Commission Regular Meeting will be held on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at 9 a.m., in the Council Chambers Conference Room, 88 E. Chicago St. The next Community Outreach Subcommittee meeting will be held on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at 10 a.m., in the Council Chambers Conference Room, 88 E.
