Meeting Minutes Domestic Violence Commission Community Outreach Subcommittee Regular Meeting April 10, 2024 - 10:00 a.m. Council Chambers Conference Room 88 E. Chicago Street, Chandler, AZ Call to Order The meeting was called to order at 10:42 a.m. Roll Call Commission Attendance Staff Attendance Commissioner LaTisha Codkind Katie Cain, Staff Liaison, Chandler Victim Services Commissioner Dawn Curtis Commissioner Chelsea Grieve Excused Commissioner Salina Imam Scheduled and Unscheduled Public Appearances Discussion 1. Discuss Community Outreach opportunities - Mental Health Awareness school tabling activity at Arizona College Prep High School on May 2nd. Three Commissioners have signed up - Field of Hope event – April 14, 2024 at 6pm - Boishakhi Eid Mela event – April 21, 2024, 1PM - 6 PM DV Commission will not be attending in 2024 but may consider it for 2025 Page 2 of 2 - Mother’s Day Brunch – May 12, 2024. DV Commission is hosting a Mother’s Day brunch for the domestic violence shelter in Chandler, My Sister’s Place - CUSD Healthy Relationship tabling events – Speak with CUSD in September or October 2024 - Chandler Library is interested in attending the DV Awareness Event because they assist residents with genealogy. The Domestic Violence Commission may have future collaborations for outreach activities with the libraries - Commissioner Curtis will consider activities or drives for the My Sister’s Place Shelter for DV Awareness during the month of October - Increase social media presence - DV Commission inform Council Member Ellis of DV Commission activities and extend invitation to DV Commission monthly meetings Member Comments/Announcements Calendar The next Domestic Violence Commission Regular Meeting will be held on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at 9 a.m., in the Council Chambers Conference Room, 88 E. Chicago St. The next Community Outreach Subcommittee meeting will be held on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at 10 a.m., in the Council Chambers Conference Room, 88 E.
