Meeting Minutes Cultural Foundation Board Development Subcommittee Regular Meeting May 21, 2024 | 4:00 p.m. Chandler Museum, Saguaro Room 300 S. Chandler Village Dr., Chandler, AZ Call to Order The meeting was called to order by LaTricia Woods at 4:03 p.m. Roll Call Board Member Attendance Staff Attendance LaTricia Woods, Committee Chair Terri Rettig Jeanne Forbis Guests Sherida McMullan Absent Erika Castro Candy Yu Scheduled and Unscheduled Public Appearances Consent Agenda Motion to approve minutes of the April 23, 2024 meeting carried unanimously (3-0). Action Agenda Briefing 1. Follow up on Board Member Survey Individual Responses – Terri brought forward the individual responses for the board member core competencies/engagement survey. The committee discussed the importance of each board member becoming a current CCA member for the 2024-2025 season if they have the means of doing so. Terri will bring membership brochures to the upcoming board meeting; LaTricia will speak to the board about the opportunity to become a current member if they haven’t joined or renewed for the coming season. 2. Executive Committee Election Process – Board Development reviewed the slate for board chair and secretary. The role of chair received two nominations; both candidates currently Page of 2 2 serve on the executive committee in other roles. Sherida volunteered to bring forward the slate at the regular board meeting. There will be a call for nominations from the floor at the regular board meeting, followed by a vote. The remaining slate will be brought forward in June pending the outcome of the election and the resulting vacancy. 3. Update on Active Board Member Applications – The committee reviewed open applications and came to consensus on who their top recommendations would be if a vacancy opened on the board. LaTricia volunteered to draft an email to reach out to the prospective candidates and let them know about other ways to become involved with the Center. Member Comments/Announcements Calendar The next meeting will be on June 25, 2024 at 4:00 pm at the Chandler Museum. Information Items The regular board meeting will be held on May 23, 2024 at 5:30 pm at the Chandler Museum.
