INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT EXTENSION EXTENSION TO THE INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT FOR THE PROVISION OF FIRE PROTECTION SERVICES BETWEEN THE CITY OF CHANDLER AND THE CHANDLER COUNTY ISLAND FIRE DISTRICT This INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT EXTENSION (“Agreement”) is made and entered into by and between the City of Chandler, an Arizona municipal corporation (the “City’), and the Chandler County Island Fire District, a political subdivision of the State of Arizona (the “Fire District”) (collectively, the “Parties”), effective this day of , 2024. WHEREAS, on May 28, 2019, the Parties entered into an Intergovernmental Agreement (“IGA”) for the provision of fire protection services and emergency medical services within the Fire District; and WHEREAS, Article 3 of the IGA provides that the IGA may be renewed for an additional five (5) year term by mutual agreement of the Parties; and WHEREAS, the Parties now wish to extend the term of the IGA for an additional five (5) years. NOW THEREFORE, in consideration of the mutual promises of the Parties, the receipt and sufficiency of which is hereby acknowledged, the Parties hereby agree to an extension of the IGA for a period of five (5) years, to expire on June 30, 2029. All other terms and conditions of the IGA shall remain unchanged and in full force and effect. IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the Parties have executed this Agreement the day and year first written above.
