RESOLUTION NO. 5833 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHANDLER, ARIZONA, AUTHORIZING A GRANT APPLICATION FOR, AND ACCEPTANCE OF GRANT FUNDS FROM, THE COMMUNITY GRANTS PROGRAM ADMINISTERED BY THE U.S. ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY IN THE AMOUNT OF $3,000,000. WHEREAS, the Community Grants Program (CGP) administered by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) provides federal funding to support projects designated for the planning, design, and construction of drinking water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure and for water quality protection; and WHEREAS, the Chandler Public Works and Utilities Department has prepared a grant application requesting $3,000,000 in CGP funding to support the City of Chandler’s Aquifer Storage and Recovery Well Equipping Project, as further described in the application materials, which are incorporated here by reference; and WHEREAS, the Chandler Public Works and Utilities Department has determined that the City can comply with the terms of the CGP Grant. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Chandler, Arizona, as follows: Section 1. Authorizing the submittal of a Community Grants Application to the EPA for $3,000,000 of funding for the purposes outlined in this Resolution. Section 2. Authorizing the City Manager, or his designee, to execute any grant application, grant disclosure forms, and grant agreement on behalf of the City of Chandler and perform all acts necessary to give effect to this Resolution and implement the grant in accordance with its terms. Section 3. Authorizing acceptance of the CGP grant funds up to the maximum amount awarded. PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Chandler, Arizona, this ____ day of September, 2024.
