RESOLUTION NO. 5850 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHANDLER, ARIZONA, DECLARING THE OFFICIAL CANVASS OF RESULTS FOR THE CITY OF CHANDLER GENERAL ELECTION HELD ON NOVEMBER 5, 2024. WHEREAS, pursuant Article VII, Section 7.01 of the Chandler City Charter, the City of Chandler, Arizona, held a General Election on November 5, 2024, for the purpose of electing one Councilmember; and WHEREAS, A.R.S. § 16-642 requires that the City Council canvass the returns of the election no later than twenty (20) days following the election; and WHEREAS, the City Council, having canvassed the returns of the November 5, 2024, General Election pursuant to A.R.S § 16-646, finds the returns to be as stated in this resolution. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Chandler, Arizona, as follows: Section 1. That Exhibit A is declared and adopted as the official canvass of the votes of the November 5, 2024, General Election and includes: 1. the overall citywide voter turnout; 2. the number of ballots cast in each precinct and in the city; 3. the number of ballots rejected in each precinct and in the city; 4. the titles of the offices voted for, and the names of each person voted for to fill the offices; and 5. the number of votes by precincts and city received by each candidate and the overall percentage of votes received by each candidate. Section 2. That, as shown in Exhibit A, the total number of ballots cast in the November 5, 2024, General Election was 137,977. The total number of registered voters was 166,164, resulting in 83.04% voter turnout rate. Section 3. That the names of the candidates voted for at the November 5, 2024, General Election for the office of City Councilmember were: Christine Ellis Joseph Yang Nicolina Intiso (qualified write-in) Section 4. That Christine Ellis, having received at the November 5, 2024, General Election the highest number of votes cast for the office of Councilmember, is declared to be elected to that office and is hereby issued a certificate of election. Section 5. That the City Clerk shall enter Exhibit A on the records of the City of Chandler as the official canvass.
