Meeting Minutes Chandler Museum Foundation Special Meeting October 28, 2024| 5:30 p.m. Chandler Museum, Saguaro Room 300 S. Chandler Village Drive, Chandler, AZ Call to Order The meeting was called to order by Barbara Meyerson at 5:30 p.m. Roll Call Board Member Attendance Staff Attendance Barbara Meyerson, Chair Jody Crago, Museum Manager Joan Clark, Vice-Chair Rich Feely, Treasurer Joshua Askey Calvenea Malloy Jacki Ryan Adam Turner Brenda Abney Martin Sepulveda Absent Tom Escobedo Al Quihuis Unscheduled Public Appearances None. Consent Agenda 1. September 2024 Board Meeting Minutes • Joan Clark made a motion to approve the minutes of the Museum Foundation Board Meeting of September 16, 2024. • Calvenea Malloy seconded the motion. • Joan Clark suggested that calendar section of the minutes be revised and that Museum Foundation Governance Subcommittee Meeting on October 22, 2024 be removed Page 2 of 3 • Motion carried unanimously (7-0). The minutes with suggested changes were approved. Action Agenda 2. Approval of Museum Foundation Spending Policy • Rich Feely made a motion to approve the Museum Foundation Spending Policy • Joan Clark seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously (7-0). 3. Approval of a Slate of Recommended Museum Foundation Board Members • Joan Clark made a motion to approve slate of recommended Museum Foundation Board Members • Rich Feely seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously (7-0). Discussion 4. Discuss Slate of Recommended Museum Foundation Board Members • Barbara Meyerson gave a brief description of the qualification of the recommended Museum Foundation Board Members Briefing 5. Status of Friends of the Chandler Museum Membership Campaign • Jody Crago shared that as of meeting there were 15 Friends of the Chandler Museum and explained the schedule for sending thank you emails weekly to new Friends and adding their names to the Museum’s Risevision screen. 6. Update on the OA+D Archives/Chandler Museum Foundation Special Event • Joan Clark described the schedule of the events on November 9th and 10th • Sixty-five people are registered but more are expected in the week before the event. • The exhibit will open in the gallery on November 5, 2024 and be available for view before, during, and after the event. 7. Chandler Museum Numbers Report: FY23-24 • Jody Crago presented the FY 23-24 Numbers Report. Foundation members were provided with a copy. Discussion about the Report commenced. • Report included data on attendance, exhibitions, programs, and collections. • There was additional discussion about what statistics the Museum is and is not tracking. 8. Live Binders Demonstration • Jody Crago gave demonstration of Live Binders program. • There was discussion on various functions of the program 9. Museum Director’s Report • Jody Cargo provided an update on things that have happened at the museum over the last month including o New air conditioning for the Price House Page 3 of 3 o Benches refinished at museum entrance o Landscaping replanting o Flood in collections space o City of Chandler Cultural Development Department Organizational Chart o Marvelocity: The Art of Alex Ross opening o Select Treasures of the OA+D Archives opening o Away from Home opening o Night at the Museum: Superhero Edition event Member Comments None.
