Motion to approve DV Commission Subcommittee Minutes of September 11, 2024 Motion: Commissioner Tipton Seconded: Commissioner Hinchey Unanimous approval, 8-0 Discussion 3. Domestic Violence Event 2024 – September 24th at 10 am at the Avion Center Histories of Trauma: A Story of Generations Recap: Event went well. In future, no more than 12 tables for next year. Ensure panel questions are provided with more notice. The event with both a keynote speaker and panel was a little too much. Add a break in middle of event. In November, address topic (Technology, AI, Psychology) for 2025 Event. Katie will send out Themes for the past events. Get date set for next year for Avion. 4. Domestic Violence Community Outreach Subcommittee - Pride in Chandler – November 16, 2024 at A.J. Chandler Park - Genogram at the Chandler Library – October 27, 2024 - Consider partnering in a Resource Fair for next year - School outreach - Healthy Relationships/Mental Health Awareness Member Comments/Announcements ACESDV – 30 hour training for Advocates will be the first week in December 2-6, 2024 THRIVE Event – November 8th, 2024 City of Chandler Domestic Violence Candlelight Vigil – October 24, 2024 with Vice Chair Curtis speaking on behalf of the Domestic Violence Commission, tabling Calendar Next Regular Domestic Violence Committee meeting on November 13, 2024 at 9:00 a.m. Next Community Outreach Subcommittee meeting on October 9, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. Adjourn The meeting was adjourned at 9:58 a.m. ___________________________ ___________________________ Katie Cain, Staff Liaison Dawn Curtis, Vice Chair
