REGULAR MEETING MINUTES
CALL TO ORDER/ROLL CALL
Chair David called the meeting to order on Tuesday, September 3, at 5:02 P.M.

ACTION ITEMS
1. Approval of Minutes from the August 6, 2024, Parks and Recreation Board
Meeting
Vice Chair Melanie Dykstra moved to approve the minutes, seconded by Board
Member Montgomery. The motion carried 6-0.

2. Bond Sub-committee Update – John Sefton
Mr. Sefton stated that the first official meeting was held a couple of weeks ago
with a kickoff, available for viewing on the City’s website. Mr. Sefton mentioned
that the 10-year CIP is short of the bond authorization the City will need. The
subcommittee will discuss a handful of new proposed projects.
Mr. Sefton stated that the first meeting of the individual subcommittees will reveal
a shortlist of those types of projects, an overview of the open meeting laws, and
why we're asking for additional authorization. This meeting is scheduled for
Thursday, October 4, at 4 p.m. in the City Hall 4th floor conference room.
Vice Chair Dykstra asked for clarification on the amount the city plans to ask for
in additional authorization. Mr. Sefton stated that it was about $670 million in
additional funding. A discussion ensued.

Wednesday, October 2nd at Basha Library 5990 S. Val Vista Drive
- The next Parks and Recreation Board meeting will be held November 5th at 5:00
p.m. in the Council Chambers Conference Room, 88 E. Chicago St.
ADJOURN
Board Member Montgomery motioned to adjourn, Vice Chair Dykstra seconded the
motion. The motion carried 5-0. The meeting adjourned at 5:24 p.m.
