RESOLUTION NO. 5861 
 
A RESOLUTION OF THE CHANDLER CITY COUNCIL AUTHORIZING 
THE CITY TO ENTER INTO A GRANT AGREEMENT WITH THE 
FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION TO ACCEPT A GRANT IN AN 
AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $4,500,000 FOR THE REHABILITATION OF 
RUNWAY 
4R-22L 
AT 
CHANDLER 
MUNICIPAL 
AIRPORT; 
AND 
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE THE GRANT AGREEMENT; 
AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER, OR DESIGNEE, TO 
EXECUTE ANY OTHER DOCUMENTS AND TAKE ALL OTHER ACTION 
NECESSARY OR APPROPRIATE. 
 
WHEREAS, the City of Chandler (City) owns the Chandler Municipal Airport (Airport); and 
WHEREAS, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) periodically programs funds to 
municipal airport facilities through its grant programs; and 
WHEREAS, the FAA requires the City as the Airport Sponsor to sign grant agreements 
accepting said grants; and 
WHEREAS, the FAA notified City staff that the City is eligible to receive a grant in a sum not to 
exceed $4,500,000 to complete pavement rehabilitation on Runway 4R-22L; and 
WHEREAS, to secure such grant funding, the City will accept the grant offer in a not to exceed 
amount. 
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Chandler, Arizona 
as follows: 
Section 1. 
Approves and authorizes the City of Chandler to accept FAA grant funding and 
agreements in a total amount not to exceed $4,500,000 for the completion of 
pavement rehabilitation on Runway 4R-22L.  
Section 2. 
Authorizes and directs the Mayor of the City of Chandler to execute a grant 
agreement for the rehabilitation of Runway 4R-22L in an amount not to exceed 
$4,500,000 and in a form approved by the City Attorney. 
Section 3. 
Authorizes and directs the Mayor, City Manager, or designee, to execute all other 
documents, certifications and/or assurances as may be required by the FAA and 
take all other action necessary or appropriate to carry out the purposes of this 
Resolution.
