Chair Erica Maxwell moved to approve the 2025 Human Relations Commission meeting dates; Seconded by Commissioner John Anguiano. Motions carried unanimously (10-0). Page 2 of 2 Discussion DEI Division Year-End Report Adrianna Erickson and CC Cantabrana presented the DEI Division Year-End Report. The City of Chandler's 2024 Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) Year-End Report highlights significant progress and impactful initiatives driven by the DEI team. Through collaborations with community organizations like IDIA, CUSD, and AZCEND, the City launched the HIVE at San Marcos, enhancing digital literacy and support for residents. The DEI team also expanded the Instant Language Assistant Translation program, offering real-time language assistance for over 200 languages, ensuring improved communication and accessibility. The Chandler Non-Profit Coalition (CNPC), reintroduced in partnership with For Our City-Chandler, serves as a central hub for local non-profits to connect, collaborate, and strengthen the community. The DEI Division’s efforts in 2024 were further exemplified through numerous events and programs, including the Diwali Festival of Lights, Asian American Community Connections, and the 29th Annual Multicultural Festival. The Diversity Education Mini-Grants program awarded $20,000 to fund DEI initiatives for local youth, impacting nearly 9,500 students. Notable recognitions include the ICMA Local Government Excellence Award in Community Equity and Inclusion. The report reflects Chandler's continued commitment to creating a welcoming environment and advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion within the community. HRC Year-End Report Chair Erica Maxwell recommended moving this agenda discussion to the next meeting and proposes each commissioner to have their feedback on attended events and goals of the Human Relations Commission for the next agenda.
