A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHANDLER, 
ARIZONA, 
RESCINDING 
RESOLUTION 
NO. 
5361 AUTHORIZING 
EXTENDED USE OF TEMPORARY SIGNAGE TO PROMOTE CHANDLER 
BUSINESSES AND WAIVE PROVISIONS OF CHANDLER CITY CODE 
CHAPTER 39-10. 
 
WHEREAS, on April 26, 2020, in response to the COVID-19 Coronavirus pandemic (the 
“Pandemic”), the City Council of the City of Chandler, Arizona adopted Resolution No. 5361 
authorizing extended use of temporary signage and the waiver of provisions of Chandler City Code 
Chapter 39-10; and  
 
WHEREAS, the provisions of Resolution No. 5361 were intended to benefit local businesses 
suffering harm due to decreased economic activity as a result of certain operational restrictions 
imposed in response to the Pandemic; and 
 
WHEREAS, at the time of passage, Resolution No. 5361 was intended to be a temporary measure 
and the City Council desires to rescind it at this time.  
 
WHEREAS, recission of Resolution No. 5361 requires formal action of the Chandler City Council. 
 
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Chandler, Arizona 
as follows: 
 
Section 1.   Rescinds Resolution No. 5361. 
 
Section 2.  Directs that City staff implement a 60-day grace period following the effective date 
of this Resolution as follows:  a 30-day education period where Chandler residents 
and businesses will receive information about Chandler’s sign regulations followed 
by a 30-day period where offenders will receive courtesy notices rather than citations. 
 
Section 3.   Directs that following the 60-day grace period described in Section 2, staff resume 
normal enforcement of Chandler’s signage rules as adopted in Chandler City Code 
and in accordance with all applicable laws.
