City of Chandler is something tremendous to me. Architecture and Design is also very important to
me and if I was to have a say in the matter, I would drive my efforts so that Chandler would
continue on the path of diversity, the need to service our community and keep our city as the most

I was born and raised in Chandler. I am first-generation and went to Frye Elementary, Willis
Junior High, Hamilton High School, Chandler-Gilbert Community College, and Arizona State
University. While many people I grew up with have moved to another city or state, I have
tried my best to stay in Chandler for 31 years and plan to raise a family here, too. I have seen
the city grow so much since I was a kid, and it has been great to see. Now that I am older, I
want to be more involved with ensuring the community I grew up in knows they have a voice
and realize they can make a difference here too. I was part of the civic program in 2024. I
learned so much about the city, which led me to also participate in speaking with kids from
Willis Junior High during Hispanic Heritage Month. Here at SRPMIC I also volunteer for
community events whenever IT needs staff to help ensure SRPMIC members know what steps
are necessary if they ever want to get into IT and help explain what different parts of IT do in
our day-to-day.

Professional Experience
I have a broad-ranging background which will lend itself well to any of the board openings. I am
interested in the Library Board having a strong background in education resources, having worked
on my Masters in Ed at NAU. I taught in the CUSD, recently ran for the CUSD School Board and am
an avid reader and utilizer of the Chandler Public Libraries. I am well versed in library studies and
resources. I collaborate well with others and have extensive research and writing expertise. I also
have extensive experience in culture and arts. I have been an advocate for domestic violence
awareness and support and have worked in that field. It is a strong passion of mine. So for the
three Boards I noted herein, I believe myself to be an extremely strong candidate.
Board/Committee Experience
I have been a member of numerous board and committees; I was appointed by the Arizona
Supreme Court as a Foster Care Review Board Member. I worked hand in hand with boards when I
worked as the Administrator with New Leaf for their Counseling Center and as the Marketing and
Communications Director at Arizona Special Olympics. I was a founding Board Member for Help A
Dog Smile Animal Rescue. With the National Association of State Approving Agencies as the
Director for the State of Arizona and representing Arizona I served on the Executive Board, I was
also the Western Region Vice President, Legislative Chair, and Chair of Institution of Higher
Learning Committee.
Briefly explain why you would like to serve on the board / commission
I have a wealth of experience and a broad based skill set that could lend itself well to the needs of
the boards. I hold Chandler dear to my heart and would like to give back with my time and talents. I
have a lot that I bring to the table and would love to work for the betterment of our City and
community.

Part of my job responsibilities at the AZCC included attending open meetings of the Commission
on behalf of the Securities division to seek the Commissioner's approval to finalize administrative
law judgements in cases I argued before Commission Administrative Law Judges.
Briefly explain why you would like to serve on the board / commission
I have been fortunate enough in my life to have the resources and abilities required to earn
undergraduate and graduate degrees at top tier institutions, which in turn has afforded me
knowledge and experience in government and business affairs to which many others have never
had access. Thus I feel a personal and a moral obligation to use these gifts to serve my community.
I believe I would be ideally suited to serve on the Citizens' Panel for Review of Police Complaints
and Use of Force given my educational and career background, particularly after working alongside
many LEOs-turned-investigators at the AZCC. My interest in the Mayor's Committee for People with
Disabilities is similarly motived by my academic and career background but also by more personal
reasons: as a child my grandmother would often cook, clean, and play with my brother and I all the
while suffering silently from crippling and painful rheumatoid arthritis. Years later I helped my dad
care for his own father who was confined to a wheelchair for more than 20 years of his life by a
stroke. I myself have lived with less visible mental conditions including depression and adult-
diagnosed ADHD. I know all too keenly how hard it can be both to provide or ask others for help,
and I wish that none would ever struggle alone. My interest in serving with the Human Relations
Commission is largely motivated by the forgoing, along with my personal identity as a happily
married gay man and proud second generation Hungarian Immigrant. I would likely show interest
in serving on most any other vacant board seat that might be deemed a good fit should my first
preferences not be suitable. Thank you for this opportunity and your consideration.

I am looking for an opportunity to give back to my community, get involved in local government,
and generally make a difference in people's lives and the community. The committees or boards I
have selected are of particular interest because they meet those objectives and I have valuable
experiences and unique skills to bring to those committees or boards. For example, I provided free
employment-law related legal services to a domestic violence shelter, consistently donated to
domestic violence shelters, worked as an employment lawyer for 25 years and can bring that
experience to the Merit Board (and other boards or committees), and have always had an interest
in assisting those who need help--socially and financially. I am a first-generation high school
graduate and acknowledge how fortunate I have been in life, and want to help others.

I have lived in Chandler for the past 14 years and I love our community and our city. I recently
retired from Banner MD Anderson Cancer Clinic but felt the need to still serve. I am currently
a Notary Loan signing agent and Deputy Registrar for the State of Arizona, so I get to share
with citizens who move into Chandler what a wonderful community that they are moving to
and serve the State during Immigration Naturalizations ceremonies. As a past victim of
domestic abuse over 40 years ago, helping women and children of abuse is close to my heart. I
am also a member of a Moms Coalition in Chandler and a member of the Moms Army which
helps stop the attacks on our children.

I have lived in Chandler for 23 years, serving on boards for 16 of these years. I feel that it is

boards over the last several years and would appreciate the opportunity to continue to serve in
