ORDINANCE NO. 5123 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHANDLER, ARIZONA, AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 5109 BY AMENDING THE SUNSET DATE OF THE RESIDENT BOND EXPLORATORY COMMITTEE AND SUBCOMMITTEES; PROVIDING FOR REPEAL OF CONFLICTING ORDINANCES; AND PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY. WHEREAS, on September 12, 2024, the City Council of Chandler, Arizona passed and adopted Ordinance No. 5109, forming the 2024 Resident Bond Exploratory Committee, including a Steering Committee and Subcommittees, to make recommendations to City Council on the use of bond financing; and WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 5109 called for the 2024 Resident Bond Exploratory Committee and the subcommittees to sunset on November 4, 2025; and WHEREAS, having now completed their duties and provided their recommendations to City Council, there is now good cause to amend the sunset date of the Resident Bond Exploratory Committee and Subcommittees. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Chandler, Arizona, as follows: Section 1. That Section 2 of Ordinance No. 5109 is amended as follows (additions in BOLD and ALL CAPS, deletions in strikeout): The 2024 Resident Bond Exploratory Committee and the subcommittees shall sunset on November 4, 2025 THE DATE OF THE COUNCIL MEETING THAT THE CITY COUNCIL CALLS FOR A SPECIAL BOND ELECTION IN 2025. Section 2. Providing for Repeal of Conflicting Ordinances. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance, or any parts hereof, are hereby repealed. Section 3. Providing for Severability. If any section, subsection, sentence, clause, phrase, or portion of this ordinance is for any reason held to be invalid or unconstitutional by the decision of any court of competent jurisdiction, such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions thereof.
