RESOLUTION NO. 5875

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHANDLER,
ARIZONA, AUTHORIZING A GRANT APPLICATION TO, AND
ACCEPTANCE OF GRANT FUNDS FROM, THE MARICOPA
ASSOCIATION OF GOVERNMENTS SECTION 5310 ENHANCED
MOBILITY OF SENIORS AND INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES
PROGRAM IN THE AMOUNT OF $90,000.

WHEREAS, the Chandler Flex (microtransit) service provides an alternative form of public
transportation in the City of Chandler; and

WHEREAS, the Maricopa Association of Governments Section 5310 Enhanced Mobility of
Seniors and Individuals with Disabilities Program provides federal funding to improve mobility
for seniors and individuals with disabilities that the Chandler Flex service can use to enhance the
trips serving these populations; and

WHEREAS, the City of Chandler’s Transportation Planning staff have prepared a Section 5310
grant application requesting $90,000 in federal funding for the Chandler Flex service; and

WHEREAS, if a grant is awarded, the City of Chandler will be required to contribute non-federal
funds up to $90,000 as a local match; and

WHEREAS, City staff have determined that the City can comply with the terms of the grant if
awarded.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Chandler, Arizona,
as follows:

Section 1. Authorizing the City of Chandler’s Transportation Planning staff to submit this
Resolution and the Section 5310 grant application materials to the Maricopa
Association of Governments.

Section 2. Authorizing the City Manager or his designee(s) to execute the grant application,
grant disclosure forms, and grant agreement, and take such actions necessary to
comply with the terms of the grant and perform all acts necessary to give effect to
this Resolution.

Section 3. Authorizing the acceptance of the Section 5310 grant funds up to the maximum
amount awarded and authorizing the City of Chandler to contribute local funds up
to the amount of $90,000 as a local match.
