I am a mom of two disabled sons and I feel that I have a unique perspective as a health care
provider and also a parent to two special needs children. I have spent my adult life advocating for
the underserved. I am active in the disability community online where I help connect parents to
resources. I also am an ambassador in a doctor founded online community supporting the autism
community called Autism Roadmaps. In my work as a nurse, I am a public health provider. At
Chandler Unified School District I oversaw multiple public school health offices and managed a
team of nursing assistants. I regularly advocated for many special needs students. At Chandler
Regional Hospital I worked in the Community Wellness department where we provided free
medical care for the uninsured. It was important to be aware of all the resources available in our
community. I would like to make a difference in the City of Chandler by helping to ensure my
neighbors who are disabled or are caring for the disabled are represented and have a voice.

medical process, military process, and everything in between. I believe in planning ahead and

medical field in both the military and in the private sector, I have experience working with the
public as well as the efficient operations of an office setting. Further, this has given me experience

I believe in giving back to our community as it is vital to our successes. I have been an active
volunteer in all of the schools my four children have attended from elementary through college as
well as all of their athletic programs, Girl Scouts and booster clubs. I volunteered with the Tempe
Sister City Organization for many years. I served as an Executive Board Member for the ASU Family
Association for several years assisting in fundraising events for their scholarship fund. While
working for TUHSD I sat on the Budget Committee, Safety Committee, Health and Wellness
Committee and was a representative for our classified staff at the district level. Currently I am an
active volunteer with MCDPH-Medical Reserve Corp. I was part of the Covid Response Team and
spent 400 hours out at one of the vaccination pods helping to vaccinate the community. Through
MCDPH-MRC, I also currently volunteer on occasion with AZCEND-Chandler as well as the City of
Phoenix Heat Relief Program.
Briefly explain why you would like to serve on the board / commission
I believe in giving back. Supporting the community we live in is vital to its success. Enabling others
to have the opportunities I have had and that my children have had is crucial for our communities
to continue to thrive and to change generational issues. The issues with our unhoused are vast and
we need to work together for a solution. Our veteran's need to be held to the highest honor and
given opportunities they may have passed up because they chose to serve our country. Our
children deserve to have parks and neighborhoods that are safe and that offer a gathering spot for
their friends and families. Community is everything and my husband and I have lived and worked in
and around this community for more than 30 years.
