CHANDLER CENTER FOR THE ARTS Statement on the Need for Long-Term Funding for the Chandler Center for the Arts Concert Truck Program The Chandler Center for the Arts Concert Truck Program is a vital initiative that brings live, professional musical performances directly to the community, ensuring that arts and culture remain accessible to all. This mobile stage offers high-quality, free concerts in parks, schools, senior centers, and public spaces, reaching numerous community members annually, including individuals who may face financial, geographic, or mobility barriers to attending traditional concert venues. Despite its tremendous impact, the Concert Truck Program currently operates with limited financial resources. The projected costs for the 2025-2026 season exceed $28,000, covering essential expenses such as artist fees, travel, lodging, hospitality, advertising, and technical support. While generous sponsorships and grants help fund the program, the current funding model does not fully cover the costs, making long-term sustainability a challenge. With consistent funding, the program can: »* Expand Performances: Increase the number of concerts and reach more communities. « Enhance Educational Offerings: Provide workshops and interactive sessions in schools, fostering music appreciation among young audiences. « Strengthen Community Engagement: Activate public spaces with live music, promoting social connection and well-being. « Support Local Artists: Provide employment opportunities for musicians while enriching Chandler’s cultural landscape. « Ensure Sustainability: Reduce reliance on short-term sponsorships and enable strategic planning for program growth.
