brings live professional performances to communities throughout Chandler and the
surrounding areas. This innovative program utilizes a fully equipped, traveling stage to
provide accessible, high-quality musical experiences to diverse audiences. Through this

aims to bridge gaps in arts accessibility by reaching individuals who may face barriers to
attending traditional concert venues.

community development by increasing access to the arts. This project aligns with
Fort McDowell's funding priorities in the following ways:

Statement on the Need for Long-Term Funding for the Chandler Center for the Arts
Concert Truck Program

The Chandler Center for the Arts Concert Truck Program is a vital initiative that brings live,
professional musical performances directly to the community, ensuring that arts and
culture remain accessible to all. This mobile stage offers high-quality, free concerts in
parks, schools, senior centers, and public spaces, reaching numerous community
members annually, including individuals who may face financial, geographic, or mobility
barriers to attending traditional concert venues.

Despite its tremendous impact, the Concert Truck Program currently operates with limited
financial resources. The projected costs for the 2025-2026 season exceed $28,000,
covering essential expenses such as artist fees, travel, lodging, hospitality, advertising, and
technical support. While generous sponsorships and grants help fund the program, the
current funding model does not fully cover the costs, making long-term sustainability a
challenge.

Investing in the long-term financial stability of the Concert Truck Program is crucial to
maintaining and expanding its reach. With consistent funding, the program can:

»* Expand Performances: Increase the number of concerts and reach more
communities.

« Enhance Educational Offerings: Provide workshops and interactive sessions in
schools, fostering music appreciation among young audiences.

« Strengthen Community Engagement: Activate public spaces with live music,
promoting social connection and well-being.

« Support Local Artists: Provide employment opportunities for musicians while
enriching Chandler’s cultural landscape.

« Ensure Sustainability: Reduce reliance on short-term sponsorships and enable
strategic planning for program growth.

Sustained funding will ensure that live music remains an accessible and integral part
of Chandler’s community life, fostering cultural enrichment, education, and economic
development for years to come.

By supporting the Chandler Center for the Arts Concert Truck Program, we affirm our
commitment to making the arts inclusive, equitable, and thriving—for everyone.

Justification and Alignment with Program Goals

The Concert Truck Program serves as a mobile, fully equipped stage, bringing professional
live music performances to schools, parks, senior centers, community festivals, and other
public spaces. By delivering free performances directly into these spaces, CCA eliminates
financial, geographic, and physical barriers that prevent many residents from accessing the
arts.

This grant will directly support:
Artist Fees — $5,000.00

The largest portion of the budget ensures fair compensation for The Concert Truck’s featured
artists, Nick Luby and Susan Zhang, whose performances and audience engagement provide
the core experience for this program.

Artist Ground Travel — $400.00

This covers local transportation for the artists, ensuring they can move efficiently between
performance sites.

Artist Hotel — $1,200.00

Providing lodging for 4-5 nights allows the artists to remain in Chandler for the duration of the
concert series, enabling seamless participation across multiple community venues.

Artist Hospitality — $0

Hospitality costs will be covered through in-kind contributions or other funding sources, ensuring
artists are cared for during performance days.

Advertising & Promotion — $900.00

These funds will support targeted digital advertising, social media outreach, and
community announcements, helping ensure that diverse audiences, including low-income
families, seniors, and individuals with disabilities, are aware of and can attend these free
performances,

Program Printing — In-kind

Printed programs will be provided through in-kind support or other existing CCA funding,
allowing audiences to learn more about the artists and the importance of arts accessibility.

Community Impact

This funding will support free, public performances that enhance community engagement,
cultural enrichment, and social connection, By bringing music directly to neighborhoods,
schools, and senior living facilities, the Concert Truck Program serves residents who may
otherwise lack access to live arts experiences due to economic hardship, transportation
barriers, or physical limitations.

Sustainability and Partnerships

CCA has successfully partnered with the City of Chandler, Salt River Project, local schools,
and nonprofit organizations to sustain and expand the Concert Truck Program. This grant will
complement those partnerships by supporting core event expenses. Combined with existing
sponsorships, in-kind contributions, and operational funding, this grant ensures the continued
success and growth of this innovative mobile arts program.

Conclusion

The Chandler Center for the Arts appreciates the opportunity to apply for this funding. With
$7,500 in grant support, the Concert Truck Program will continue to foster equitable access
to live music, strengthen community ties, and enrich the cultural life of Chandler’s
residents.
