1. City of Chandler Mayor Kevin Hartke will provide an update on current events in Chandler
and Answer questions. Canceled appearance prior to the meeting.
2. Lizette Roeder is a representative of the Arizona Coalition to End Sexual and Domestic
Violence (ACESDV). She will be appointed as DV Commissioner. She will speak about her
roll in ACESCV. Canceled appearance prior to the meeting

3. Motion to approve DV Commission Minutes of March 12, 2025

Discussion
4. Recap of the DV Commission Proclamations at the April 7th City Council Meeting. Everything
went well with the reading of the Proclamations.
5. Recap of the International Mother Language Day Celebration 2025 on Saturday February
22, 2025 at Tumbleweed Park. Open discussion regarding changes to policy, especially at
Non-City sponsored events, and make sure we are coordinating with the event coordinator
and have one point of contact, as a project lead.
6. Field of Hope Event – Sunday, April 13, 2025 - Raising awareness of Child Abuse by
standing up a flag for each children’s lives that were lost for that previous year.
Commissioner Tipton volunteered to speak at the event. We will offer to bring DV
Commission brochures during the event.
7. A brunch celebration in the month of May for the mothers at My Sister’s Place shelter. May
3rd, 2025 9am – 11pm. Chair Codkind will be point of contact for the event. Will be making
bouquets for the mothers, rock decorating, and creating menu for event.
8. Domestic Violence Awareness Event – Tuesday September 23,2025. Tabled at meeting.
9. Domestic Violence Community Outreach Subcommittee update - Tabled at meeting

Vice Mayor Christine Ellis will attend the May DV Commission meeting.
13.
Elections for Chair and Vice Chair will take place during the May meeting. If elect a
current officer, and she’s in agreement, she can serve another term.

Congratulations to all the reappointed DV Commissions: LaTisha Codkind, Chelsea
Griece, Aleshia Fessel and Megan Perez for Community Legal Services, Dawn
Curtis for Catholic Charities, Sharon Tipton for The Enlightenment Hour, and
Gretchen Long for Boys and Girls Club Compadre Branch.
